I like to call the food that I cook artisanal comfort food with a twist. I’m all about delicious food that is hearty, hand made from scratch, beautiful, and makes people really happy! However, since comfort food means different foods to different people, I’m sure I can come up with something that will be perfect for you!
ABOUT THE INGREDIENTS I USE
I believe in using a diverse set of fresh and hearty ingredients. I prefer to use seasonal ingredients because of the fresh and intense flavors. However, when it comes to special requests, I am not against cooking with out-of-season or special ingredients (as long as I can find them). In the end, I like to know exactly what goes into each of my dishes, so I do my very best to avoid any pre-processed or pre-packaged ingredients. I purchase almost all of my ingredients from Whole Foods or the local farmers market, ensuring you get a fresh and delicious meal every time!

Chef Ronnie Woo produced a wonderful private dinner for eight as we toasted a special anniversary for my in-laws. He was very easy to work with from beginning to end and was quite open to my menu suggestions. His tray passed crostini featuring leek and thyme confit with goat cheese were decadent! The handmade butternut squash ravioli was delicate and flavorful - a definite crowd pleaser. My favorite course though was the pistou topped hangar steak served over parmesan polenta with a side of Swiss chard - comfort food at its best. Chef Ronnie even left a big bowl of polenta in the fridge for us to enjoy the next day. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend Chef Ronnie. He is a true gem and gifted chef!

Chef Woo was amazing! From start to finish he helped make our holiday party special and was able to accomodate all the fussy eaters and allergies we had. Will for sure be using him for my next event!

Ronnie was delightful in every way. He immediately acclimated to my home & kitchen and produced a lovely dinner for 9 people seemingly effortlessly. His appetizers with his signature bacon jam were snarffed up with cocktails. He cooked the steak on his "Carnivore Caprese" to perfection. And the desert was nothing short of stellar-- a beautiful white peach tarte with an amazing anglais sauce. He was conversational and comfortable with the guests and kept on schedule at the same time. And with the help of a server, left the kitchen in great shape at the end of the evening .

So much fun. My friends and I had a cooking lesson with Ronnie as a surprise birthday for a friend, and she couldn't have been any happier with the outcome. Ronnie was super friendly and great at improvising, and the sweet potato mac 'n cheese was probably the best carb dish I've had in a long time!

Chef Ronnie collaborated with me on a menu to suit my friends and he executed flawlessly! We planned a wonderful menu and it turned out even better than planned – a delicious butternut squash soup, followed by a beautiful hanger steak with a veggie of roasted chard, red quinoa and goat cheese – it was delicious! We topped off the meal with a to-die-for crème brulee French toast with berries and ice cream. There wasn’t a morsel left on any plate! We loved the dinner and the experience, and as the host, I loved that Ronnie left the kitchen looking great when he left! I definitely recommend Ronnie!!

Chef Ronnie was a pleasure to work with, food tasted great! Our only disappointment was with the portion sizes. We were all still hungry! I would hire Ronnie again for sure, I would just request lot's more food.

Ronnie did a fabulous job. He prepared 8 appetizers for our saki and sushi tasting and coordinated with our saki sommelier who also offered 8 saki tastings. The food was great and beautifully presented. Most of all, we all had a great time.

I booked Ronnie to cook a dinner for a surprise birthday party for 10 people two nights before the event. Although it was a little last minute, Ronnie really came through and helped made the event a success. Ronnie was extremely professional, responsive and flexible (we had to add two additional meals last minute and it was no sweat!). I'm not the greatest connoisseur of food, so Ronnie helped me put together a delectable menu based on the birthday boy's taste. Despite little later start than expected due to traffic, Ronnie helped pull the event together with great calm and professionalism. All of the guests thoroughly enjoyed the four course meal and were all very impressed by the presentation. Most importantly, the birthday boy loved it!

Ronnie was amazing and so was the food. There were some traffic challenges in the city and he arrived late, but totally made up for the time. He was personable and easy to work with. We were both really busy during the planning and we played a lot of phone and voice mail tag, but we made it work and we all had an incredible evening. Our group was made up of women that eat smaller then normal servings. If we had had big eaters at the event I don't think we would have had enough food. He is personable and "easy on the eyes!" I highly recommend Ronnie and would reserve him for an event in the future.

We booked Ronnie for a casual catch-up dinner with a group of friends, and could not have been happier with the experience. Ronnie created a fun, casual, and carefree experience and a delicious menu. Must tries: his seared scallops and ice cream sandwiches (there were multiple guest comments about "the best ice cream sandwich I've ever tasted"). Though I'm confident that all of his food would be great -- he really struck the balance between comforting and inventive food. Ronnie is a super-friendly, all around great guy (and chef) who I'd happily book again for any type of event.

I only have incredible things to say about Ronnie. My partner hired him to cook at a surprise birthday party for me and I can say, without a doubt that it is the best birthday I've ever had. Roannie had multiple calls with my partner to get a feel for what I liked (he even faked being her cousin when i accidentally picked up) and on the day of the party, he cooked the most amazing four course meal, complete with foods I love the most like leek bruschetta, polenta, and pork belly. Furthermore, he was the perfect combination of professional and fun. He was great at reading the personality of the room and was able to be fun and interact - which my guests loved. However, had it been a more formal affair, I guarantee he would have adapted as needed. He left my kitchen spotless, sent a follow up thank you postcard, and as a bonus, he's pretty great to look at :)

Ronnie is fabulous!! He's a lot of fun to work with and his food is outstanding! We had a group that ranged in age from 5 to 45 and everyone enjoyed the food completely. Ronnie was creative with the menu, but also thoughtful given the audience - kids tried and loved the "adult" food and the adults tried and loved the "kid" food. In addition to everything's being delicious, the presentation was also remarkable - rustic yet elegant. Ronnie made our evening memorable ... and totally enjoyable for my husband and me as the hosts!!!

Chef Ronnie is exactly what you'd hope for when booking a private chef -- food is exceptional, presentation is perfect & service is precise. Best of all though, Ronnie is pleasant & easy to work with. He pulled off a 20 person high profile dinner party with 24 hours notice & totally killed it. As the event planner, he made me look good! Can't recommend him enough!

It was a casual Friday get together with friends at my apartment. Chef Ronnie's food was exquisite and delicious. The chicken coconut-milk curry was very authentic and the dessert was heavenly. He was also very amenable: I am dairy free and a few of the guests kept Kosher and he catered for everyone. He's a great communicator--he kept me posted all throughout the prep period a few days before the event and all the way until after!

Chef Ronnie came over to cook a family dinner to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday. He was wonderful! The food was incredible - better than many meals we have had at well-known restaurants recently. He paid so much attention to detail and was extremely accommodating and flexible in handling specific needs for one guest who was vegan and gluten free and making a small customized plate for my 3 year old. It was also a pleasure to have him in our house cooking, as he is very friendly and easy to talk to. He was very easy to work with in setting the menu, and took care of everything, including leaving my kitchen cleaner than it was when he arrived. I didn't have to worry about anything and could enjoy spending time with my family, and everyone raved about Chef Ronnie and the meal and are already talking about when we can hire him again.

Ronnie and his crew, Janine and Doug, were fabulous to work with. We held a pre mom's day dinner this weekend and it was a huge hit. Ronnie's suggestions for the menu items were loved by all, even the kids! My soon to be 4 year old daughter loved the polenta with lamb ragu (she had 4ths!). Our guests couldn't stop raving about the food. Ronnie even made his smores marshmallows for our guests as a little mother's day gift. My husband and I throw many parties and this ranks up there with the best of them.

Ronnie worked with us to plan a great last minute birthday dinner for 13 friends! Everyone loved the menu and he was able to accomodate different dietary restrictions with great alternatives. I was very impressed with the quality ingredients he brought and how professional the whole experience was. At the end of the meal, everyone was very impressed with the food and how spotless the kitchen was! We are looking forward to having another Kitchit party very soon.

Ronnie is a pleasure to work with. First, the discussion regarding the menu was rather straightforward. In that, he came up with a few options for me to select. The descriptions made the selection rather simple. I change the arrival time on him a couple of times and he still graciously agreed to the changes. While at the house, he was least intrusive in our entertaining the guests. Even with an open floor plan and kitchen, all we could hear were the innocent sounds of cooking sending juices running in our alimentary-canals. The guests loved the food and the descriptions. Even the post event activities were great. From the communications I received - including the hand written card - one could tell easily that Ronnie - together with his sous chef - strive for perfection and customer delight.
