KITCHIT CONFIDENTIAL
Chef Ian Mullen's unassuming and straightforward demeanor may be a vestige of his New England background - he trained at the New England Culinary Institute, in Vermont - or it may just be indicative of the fact that Chef Ian is really just all about the food. Forget the pomp and circumstance, because what Chef Ian cares most about is delivering a flawless, perfect-to-the-smallest-detail experience to his clients. Yes, he's cooked at restaurants around the world, including Thomas Keller's Per Se, in New York City, but you're much more likely to get Chef Ian talking about the latest menu he's creating than you are to find him boasting about his impressive culinary resume. According to him, Chef Ian's culinary style is strongly influenced by classic French techniques and more modern approaches to haute cuisine, but his food is, above all, ingredient focused. This style is evident in his menus, which read as concise lists of complementary, yet unexpected ingredients. In addition to his restaurant experience, Chef Ian has deep knowledge of and experience with private dining, and is as comfortable with an intimate dinner party as he is with groups of 100 or more discerning diners. If your next event calls for flawless execution from soup to nuts and everything in between, Chef Ian will not disappoint.

BIO
Throughout my career, I have worked for demanding chefs in competitive, Michelin-starred, five-star, five-diamond kitchens. I apply these same standards to my work as a private chef. The focus of my training and education has been on French technique, but my cuisine is now infused with a modern, ingredient-driven execution that adapts the traditional methods. My cuisine starts with innovative menus rooted in seasonal products; I pride myself on preparing all menu items from raw ingredient to finished plate. As a private chef, I bring a customized fine-dining experience to the client's home. Each dish I offer is tailored to the client's individual tastes and dietary requirements, and I am capable of adhering to restrictions without sacrificing flavor or inventiveness. My in-home event experience includes everything from small dinner parties to events for more than 100 guests. I enjoy working closely with clients, or I can work independently - whatever you prefer. From menu development and execution, to wine pairings, to managing event staff, I can coordinate every detail for a successful event!
REFINED, INGREDIENT-DRIVEN CUISINE
My cuisine is rooted in refined cooking techniques that highlight the complex flavors naturally found in each ingredient. The results are carefully crafted dishes that surprise with their simplicity.
