One of the reasons why I have become such a religious fanatic about Kitchit is that it enables me to be a gracious hostess, even on the spur of the moment. In this case, my husband decided that we should have an impromptu get-together with our neighbors and friends. So, with less than 48 hours to go, I reached out to Kitchit, and specifically, Ian, to see whether it/they could pull a culinary rabbit out of a hat again. The answer: "No problem". Ian was friendly, cooperative, and flexible when it came to planning the menu. He asked very intuitive and caring questions about the type of event that I had in mind, and the types of ingredients that we would like, and not like, to see on the menu. On the date of the event, he showed up on time, and got right down to business preparing the dinner. The meal he prepared? Well, it was first-rate. We inhaled every morsel. And, when a little snafu happened because we gave away my husband's dessert to my guest's brother (long story), Ian didn't miss a beat, and he quickly whipped up another serving for my very bewildered and slightly irritated, dessert-less husband. By the end of the meal, my guest was talking about booking Ian for her upcoming Academy Awards party, and I have yet another amazing Kitchit chef in my arsenal. A+!

Absolutely amazing!! Food was spectacular - had a 5 course meal with friends at our home. He accommodated all of our food preferences and even did a special meal for one of our guests with very short notice after I learned that she did not eat meat. Cannot recommend Ian enough - throwing a dinner party was so easy. Ian showed up on time, cooked for 6 hours and served us Michelin star quality dishes at home. He also had a waitress help him serve us so he could focus on the food. Could not ask for more!

Ian went above and beyond for our dinner party. His food was incredibly delicious and complex and his presentation was gorgeous. He was extremely professional, pleasant, courteous, and respectful of our brand new kitchen. We had two guests with different food restrictions and Ian prepared beautiful, delicious substitutes for each of them. His service was flawless (my husband went to open a bottle of wine before guests arrived and Ian insisted on doing it himself). He left our kitchen sparkling when he was done. All of our guests raved on and on about him. We hope to have him back very soon!

This year, my wife and I decided to avoid the crowds and cabs on New Year's Eve and host a multi-course dinner at home for a party of 12. We were early Kitchit users and decided to use the service for our party. The experience was flawless and the results were beyond our expectations. Without question, this was our best NYE of all time.
After speaking with a few chefs, we chose Ian Mullen to run the kitchen. Ian worked with us for a few weeks to determine the perfect menu for our event. He inquired about our plans for wine pairings and any specific likes/dislikes. In addition to selecting a lineup he knew everyone would love, Ian was very careful to address any potential food allergies. The result was a phenomenal three hour dining experience that left everyone at the party extremely happy. Ian, his sous chef, Jason, and server, Terry, knocked it out of the park. Our menu was as follows:
belon oyster / hibiscus / cilantro oil ( white burgundy )
hamachi / yuzu / green peppercorn / sevruga caviar ( white burgundy )
parsley root agnolotti / onion broth / bay nuts / chive blossoms / manni oil ( pinot noir )
turbot / fennel pollen / smoked potato / brussel leaves ( pinot noir )
aged pekin duck / black truffle / salsify / chestnut / verjus ( bordeaux )
pork shoulder / chantrelles / tokyo turnip / quince / brioche / natural jus ( cabernet )
slow cooked ribeye of beef / spinach / kohlbrabi / brown butter / black truffle / natural jus ( cabernet )
honey crisp apple / salted caramel / pistachio / sweet cream sorbet / spearmint ( sauterne )
assorted truffles
Every dish was a success, but my favorites were the hamachi, agnolotti, and pork shoulder. We had 12 members of the clean plate club all night long, but these three dishes stood out to me.
My wife and I can't recommend Ian and his crew enough. The night was everything we'd hoped for and then some. Book with confidence.

Dinner Saturday was a dream come true. I honestly could not imagine a more delicious meal! Ian Mullen is so talented and I really enjoyed getting to know him. Without lifting so much as a finger, we were delighted by a delicious first course consisting of baby purple artichokes and Ian's hand-made burrata. Following that was our main dish of black bass with rhubarb, dandelion greens, and kabocha squash. And then dessert: sugar pumpkin, goat's milk sorbet, and chocolate nibs, which went far above and beyond Brooke's original request for something pumpkin-y! This Kitchit dinner brought the quality of the first-class restaurant experience to our intimate, fun, home setting. With dinner completely taken care of, we got to focus on the delicious food and great company!

I informed the chef less than 10 minutes before he served dinner that I'm vegetarian, and he still prepared a spectacular meal. Really well done.
