From a very young age, chef Keizo Shimamoto has loved ramen. As a second generation Japanese-American who grew up frequenting Japan with family, he quickly developed a love that would one day encapsulate his wildest dreams. He began his blog, Ramen Dreams, around the same time he moved from L.A. to Tokyo in 2009. Keizo traveled the length of Japan, eating dozens of bowls of ramen in 21 cities over the course of a month. In the past year he has sampled more than 600 bowls of ramen while perfecting his own ultimate version at Bassanova in Tokyo, Japan.
This late-night after party for The Chicago Food Film Festival is a rare occasion for diners outside of Tokyo to sample Keizo's signature masterpiece.
